Checksums for the img.gz file in Readme.txt or as chcksum file

Hi,

would it be possible to include a checksums for the Images either in the Readme.txt or as a separate checksum file with at least SHA256 message digest?

could you elaborate on the specific requirement?

I used to do checksums a while back, but as the images are compressed, their integrity is already verified by the decompressor. So checksums are a bit superfluous.

But if theres a genuine need I would be happy to bring them back.

Well, when downloading images for my RaspberryPis, I always check that the downloaded image files are correct
and on their website there always is checksum for that particular file, see below link
