Development snapshot 2.3.001 for ORx

We’ve identified the root cause of the recently reported “no files downloading” problem.

To give you some background, the settings panel would always show files downloading at 100% and no files would appear, even on a freshly pressed SD card. It’s possible that this issue had been present in the previous releases as well, but was never noticed (by us anyway). It has been determined that this issue occurred due to missing path to cache directory where ONDD stores it’s bookkeeping information and partial downloads.

This snapshot contains a new init script for ONDD which should fix the issue.

Download location is as usual: http://j.mp/orx-images (uploads pending)

This snapshot is ORx-only as Lighthouse is not affected by the issue.

We will not release a full hotfix until next Lighthouse release to keep release versions syncrhonized, so please use this snapshot instead. It contains no experimental features, and since this is a minor change, it should be stable enough for regular use.

yes. the issue has been solved.

I am running 2.3.001 on my ORxPi at this time with no apparent problem on Galaxy 19. My new monitoring key (which is apparently reporting) is 2ab2fc83-815d-499b-b71b-ddf0d2fc7f69

Apps, MP3 Files, and Tweets are downloading. I’ll let it go for 24 hours and report back. Ken

My ORxPi has been successfully running version 2.3.001 for 24 hours along side my Lighthouse (each unit is connected to a different LNB output on my quad LNB - Lighthouse via WiFi at the base of the antenna and the ORxPi hardwired to my router inside the house). Same files from 4 carousels downloading on both with no problems.

I have swapped my Lighthouse for the ORxPi as to being connected to my router. My Lighthouse is now reporting Galaxy 19 status as unit

My ORxPi is also running without any issue. Elapsed time is nearly 24hours.

2.3.001 here also ok since yesterday. Setup: RPi1 via Hotbird13, 80cm dish.
Files sort neatly and are accessible via the Librarian menus.
A happy new year to everybody from Germany,
Wolfgang

@branko After connecting the external storage, I noticed following after 3 hours.

  1. Video is missing under TED Talks directory. Before connecting the external storage, the TED Talks video was there and also I watched it.

  1. Missing images in old tweets

Can you check if the files are physically present on the storage?

Initially the TED Talks video was there in the SD card.

SD Card

After connecting the external storage, the TED Talks video file doesn’t get copied into the external storage.

External Storage (Flash Drive)

Can you paste the hotplug section of the logs?

NOTE: I did several restarts today.

Also after restating the monitoring doesn’t get started automatically. So I did manual restart through SSH.

This happens for every restart.

Can you open a new thread about this and post the monitoring portion of the logs?

Yes, will do. Today we have a electric power interruption problem. So unable to boot the receiver. I’m using my phone to browse the discussion forum.

As for the hotplug issue, we’ll look into it next week. Engineering is on vacation at the moment. We’re back in action on Jan 4th.
