Interesting that is a flat reflector, using what are called embedded Fresnel lens rings.

I have no idea what cost is. Probably expensive because unique design. I remember the very early days of CNN where the reporter in the field (Iraq) had a suitcase antenna to shoot the satellite with live feed,

We saw folding Ku antennas way back during DC1 days. I was not there, but I certainly watched the YouTubes.
