Leaves on the trees

When I first got my dreamcatcher I was rather disappointed.
It seemed that no matter what I tried there was no signal. I tried various cones as seen in these forums. When winterizing my camper I brought my portable dish home and changed the lnb holder to hold the one that came with my dreamcatcher. And still no signal.
I was about to put the old lnb holder back on the dish and take it back to the camper. But with all the leaves having fallen off my neighbors trees decided to give the dish another go. And voila - I am now running around -6 snr.

Stupid leaves.

Yes trees are not your friend for satellite reception.

I doubt anyone is watching this thread now, but. After a year and a half process of job relocating and selling/buying a new house I once again have my portable dish setup and have a signal lock. No trees in the way this time.

Can you receive without a dish?

Nope, just tried with the bare lnb (bullseye) and no lock. Must be just enough trees or the house at the top of the hill blocking some signal in my back yard.
I will try a different location at lunch time and see what I can get.
