Lighthouse test

hi

finally i get 113w with a 60 cm dish

final elevation , its like 40 not 46 (for my antenna installation  )

rf scan

which it is the user for root:ssh ? the same of web ?

saludos/ Cheers

Great. Well done. If you donā€™t mind, did you ever put your location into a pointing website? If so, what elevation did it recommend?

It will help me reconcile the various markings on different dishes, to true elevation angle.

hi

the dish is on the wall, not on the floor . and the wall its so badly done with mini mountains ā€¦ I suppose that the base is not 90 Ā°
here a pic of the wall, and . put the base of the antena on the wall, was very difficultā€¦

i use this 3 webs , on gps location of the dish

LIVE REAL TIME SATELLITE TRACKING AND PREDICTIONS: SATMEX 6 on gps location of the dish
http://www.dishpointer.com/
SatBeams - Satellite Coverage Maps - Sat Footprint Eutelsat 113 West A (E113WA, Satmex 6) / MexSat 2 (Morelos 3)

also use these tools
satmeter dvb-s/s2 ---- configure on 12,089/H/11,719
analog satfinder

saludos

Thatā€™s a beautiful dish.

SSH username/password are both outernet. The user account has sudo rights.

@kalashnikov indeed that is a beautiful dish :Dā€¦

Good day to everyone,

We have good news. With the new dish we were able to recieve outernet without any problem!
Thank you for all the help.

hola

@branko I wonder, the serial port is for configuration, or could i recieve some information through it?

@kalashnikov Wow! You rock. Did you license your video as Creative Commons? Because we may want to start using is for demos

Another thing you beat us to: A receiver with a public IP. Iā€™m building a solar install in the coming weeks, which Iā€™ll be placing in a deserted area and assigning a public IP.

Iā€™m surprised that your Lighthouse is not showing up under our status page: http://status.outernet.is/

By the way, if you would like to opt out of the status system, feel free to comment out that code.

Is there any content you would like us to send?

Serial gives you access to command line shell. Though, for some people (including me), it wasnā€™t interactive. So your mileage may vary.

hi

the video is now public domain, and photos to

the lighthouse Its behind a router and get private ip, but get acces to internet

i just use uplink.outernet.is to send some file, just waiting for something to happen

edit

if i can get this amateur radio news flow on outernet ā€¦

What was the name of the file you sent?

Hello everyone! recently received my Lighthouse but I can not make it work, I wondered if any one can help a little with the setup? i live in Bogota

I am using a directv dish 60cm @jorge you find 70cm dish here in Colombia?

these two lnb try unsuccessfully

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005BQXL2W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01

Iā€™m using this to point the dish
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NL4DYSC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages02

@kalashnikov are you using any special paint to decorate the dish?

from already thank you very much, I love this project and I am glad that i am not the only one in Colombia!

For Bogota, supposedly the minimum suggested size is 65, but you probably want 70~90.

Carlos, i use the same sat finder. Do you see the bar graph changing as you try to point the dish?
I use a website to give me my approximate pointing direction, and find a landmark somewhere in the beam to point my dish at. I then use the sat finder to fine tune. I find that you can get a strong signal from the satellite next to the one you intend to look at.

If you do see a signal on the sat finder, your LNB is probably OK.

saludos

branko tanks a lot i will try a big dish and fallow @JohnSpace instruccions!

I have worked with the RxPi since November 2014, and have learned much. Now, my Lighthouse has arrived, and I am testing its performance.

Out of the box, Lighthouse sets up/connects within 5 minutes to a Ku Band antenna pointed to Galaxy 19. It is downloading about 1,000 articles per day plus the various Tweets at about 90 kps. I have been able to connect the Lighthouse in my house (100 meters away from my antenna) and receive signals 15 Signal Units lower than when connected directly at the base of my antenna (Signal level direct connect = 80, Signal level 100 meters away = 65 [whatever Signal level means]). I could not do this with the Geniatech receiver on my the Raspberry Pi running OrxPi v0.2.8 before.

The only issue on the Lighthouse is the external hard drive does not seem to work at all - - no file transferred after plug-in, and no recognition it is even connected. It is a 160 GB hard drive formated with a FAT32 properly named ext_store.

I hope this is useful to someone. Ken

i plug a 64gb sd on EXT4 named EXT_STORE (caps on) ,on power off, them on , all the content fly away and starts from 0

also ask for the user password again and a new pin for recover password ā€¦
