Using the lantern as a gateway for IOT enabled devices

Hello,

Can the lantern be used as a gateway ( like a router ) to connect a network of Internet of things enabled devices via wifi within its proximity. Specifically in areas where there is no Internet infrastructure.

Since the lantern is only able to transmit one way, can this create a network of IoT devices that communicate between one another and are able to receive new information from the lantern that would relay info from the satellites.

Lantern will have a WiFi interface which can be configured either as an access point or a client. So you can connect WiFi-enabled devices to it and it will route traffic between them. I think the capacity would be around 30 devices.
