i wanna buy a lantern of $149. Does it only transfer the data rather than scan the internet?
Right now, there is only satellite service over China via AsiaSat 5, though we don’t have users in that area (as far as I know), so I’m not sure how good the reception is. As for other frequencies that Lantern would support, I’m not 100% sure about the timeline for global coverage, but it is definitely planned.
That is correct.
Also keep in mind that non-satellite service for Lantern is also known as ‘low-speed’ service. To get better speeds, you would still need satellite service. You can test the satellite service already by using our ORxPi instructions or by purchasing the Lighthouse receiver.
