Poweroff Thoughts

I just got set up yesterday. So far, I’m enjoying the concept. I’m using the Rasberry Pi 3 build. I looked in the forums and saw powering off was discussed before. It was recommended to just pull the power on the Lantern. Is this the case with the Pi? Could a poweroff button be added to the GUI in Settings to run a script stopping services and issuing a shutdown command? What do you other Pi owners think?

Outside of outernet, what most pi users do is place a momentary push button on the PI itself that is setup to run the script to shutdown gracefully when pushed. As for placing a button on the browser, I am not sure if that is the plan due to them phasing out support for the PI platform. Or you could log into the PI via SSH and issue the reboot, or halt command etc.
