I was surprised that we couldnā€™t find the installer anywhere. Some of the other related files are still around: station list, manual.

You could upload it to https://fromsmash.com/ and then post the link for the file hereā€¦ (mods permitting!)
That needs no registration and you donā€™t need to give any emails etc, ( although it will try to get them from you LOL! Just go past that stuff) and it will give you a link after you have uploaded the fileā€¦ The link expires after a few days.

Finally remembered that I joined the navtexdx Yahoo Group a few years ago, but havenā€™t been an active navtex DXer for some time. In the files area they have YaND setup v. 6.4 (April 6, 2014) as well as the v6 Manual and a fairly recent stations list updated by one of the members. This is affiliated with the NDBlist group. You may be aware of their info website http://www.ndblist.info/

Navtex DX is active with 300 plus members. I could still take the other approach of uploading my copy to the site you mentioned. However, joining the group is probably more satisfactory - easier access to the software and itā€™s instructive to read the posts many of which are loggings and give an idea of other DX-ersā€™ results - probably the majority from Europe.

Recently began monitoring and feeding railroad code-line activity in our region on VHF (using an SDRPlay RSP-1). The software to do this is also only made available through a Yahoo Group. Seems to be a trend ?

I have a list of about 25 such groups the vast majority of which I rarely if ever visit. Yahoo Groups web interface also is terrible.

But on the other hand free software is niceā€¦

For what itā€™s worth, I got a look at sample data from the tdma-paid version. Interesting stuff.

So why do they bother forcing ā€œjunkā€ members? Sigh ā€¦ I must have 100 forgotten Yahoo accounts

Oh yes! Worked on kleinschmidt TT-98, TT7etc. Perf and reperf. Even the model 19s. Then on to the Teletype model 28 series and 33 series. If I remember the 33s went to ascii. The older units were 45 baud at 60wpm. 110v 20ma current loop serial could give you a nice zap too! Nothing like the sound of a 20 mil selector relay clacking away. Only took hours to print a Playboy poster using only chars X and O.

I tried to find a carrier that would decode with tekmanoid at 98W. Has anyone been successful or is it not present at that satellite? If so which satellite should I point at? I am at 33N 117W.
BTW, I was able to run tekmanoid on my Mac. The trick was to rename the .exe to .jar and use
java -jar egcdecoder.jar tekmanoid.DecoderMVC
to start the app. That should also work for Linux.
