Signal in Kansas?

So I bought a Dreamcatcher while they were on sale “just because”. Didn’t do any advance research on where the signal should be available. I’ve seen talk in the forums about outages, but that seemed to be in other countries. So, two simple questions: which antenna is best for the Dreamcatcher? And, can I expect to get any signal in the middle of the USA – Kansas? Thanks!

Two simple questions: which antenna is best for the DreamCatcher?
The DreamCatcher has two SMA antenna ports. The one on the outside uses the internal LNA and SAW filter. It requires a passive antenna. The passive patch works great.

Alternatively, you can use the active patch antenna. It has an LNA and SAW filter built into it. So you don’t need the DreamCatcher’s own LNA and SAW filter. That’s what the SMA port closer to the center is for. It bypasses the internal LNA and SAW filter.

And, can I expect to get any signal in the middle of the USA – Kansas? Thanks!
Outernet has coverage in the Americas now from the Inmarsat 4-F3 satellite.

Things may change today. Look for the big announcement.
